Covid got me good and proper. A cancelled holiday and then COVID struck and with it ten days of isolation! A real double whammy! It got me thinking and prompted this question. How to be visible when you’re just not feeling it?
I’ve been hibernating for a couple of weeks. At least that’s what it felt like. Anyway, I’m out the other side. I managed to keep working but not at full pelt. Don’t worry this isn’t a blog about my health!
Having a period of enforced absence really helps you to take stock of a situation. To be honest I didn’t feel much like being visible. I didn’t feel much like doing anything. I was properly sorry for myself!
It’s ok if that’s you though. Don’t give yourself a hard time. If you’re not feeling it then here are some tips from me to help you along the way:
Repurpose your content
It doesn’t take much effort and you’re still visible. Look back at your previous content (Business Suite is great for this) and duplicate and reschedule some posts. You will still be visible and it takes minimum effort.
Take a break
If you’re not feeling the best then you won’t be creating the best content. And when you’re ready you can start sharing again. Social media platforms often put in prompts telling you when someone you follow hasn’t posted in a while so that’s an opportunity in itself.
Use it as a future content opportunity
There is nothing people like more than getting an insight into your world. So take some notes – how are you feeling? What aspects can you use to share with your audience to build connection? Blogs, email and social media are all great outlets for this kind of content!
We talked about this in a recent live in my Facebook Community, Get Yourself Noticed and it was amazing how many people this resonated with.
Keeping visible is important but there are bumps in the world so don’t be too hard on yourself if you take your foot off the visibility pedal for a while.
